Smile Can I see pics of your bird rooms? I've officially lost it!

I have started a new project this week. I am painting the walls and painting a mural for the wall behind the birds cage. My hubby thinks I have lost it, but he is helping me big time! The room is big 14 x 26 with lots of large windows, and 2 skylights. I want the area where the cage will be to be nice and brightly colored..hence the jungle mural I will be painting. It has high cathedral ceilings as well so lots of room for boings and a hoopball! I can't wait till it's finished. Now my question is, could I see what your bird rooms look like? I thought I had sooooo much time to get stuff done before he came home, but nope, I had to start this! LOL. I would love to see how you all have your bird rooms/areas decorated! Thanks in advance!

Oooo, I am so glad you posted! I am going to be attacking our bird room (also called sun room) and have some ideas.

I wanted to get pictures of the birds, but apparently enlarging them, framing them, etc... is going to be too expensive, so I think I will take the posters from BT and do some srt of really cool frame with it to hang. Thank goodness they are still in good condition.

I'm going to the flea market to get accessory stuffs. I am mainly looking for things that are out-of-the-ordinary, but won't look like something that is competing with the cages and playstands. No current furnitue, but maybe my grandparents will let me have their awsome old couch. They have had it forever, and it has Scarlett macaws printed all over it. I love it and think it would look so cool with the colors and all! *Sigh* I don't know howwe would get it up to Ga though... Basicaly, I am going bird room nuts!

Ollie has simply taken over the entire apartment...so no creative pics from me either! I want to see finished pics of yours though!

Sorry I don't have any cool photos either. My birds kinda sorta have their own room, but it's not fancy or anything.

Thanks for the replys all! Yes, it's our family room as well. He's not even here yet and he's taken over! I can't wait till it's finished. And I will for sure post pictures. Last night hubby set up the ladder and such for me to paint the ceiling waaaayyyy up! I am doing sky blue and maybe some willowy clouds on that ceiling. I am stuck though, I'm now wondering if I should paint a jungle mural like I did in my daughters room, or an african sunset scene. OK seriously......get me my straight jacket!

We are moving (Hopefully SOON), and one of the #1 requirements for the new house is a BIRD ROOM! I have told my Realtor this is probably more important than most of the other items on the list!! In most of the houses, the 'formal' dining room has been the likely space- Right in the middle so the birds are in the 'flow' of things, near the kitchen so food and sink are close, usually plenty of light, and doors to close it off for our (and their) sanity and protection!!!

Of course, redecorating in a 'bird appropriate' manner will have to be done! Easy clean walls, floors, and, yes- Ceilings. My realtor got a kick out of that one
