Default Call Me Crazy...

Ok, maybe it's because I love birds so much, but I swear I heard a parrot in the cryptomeria on the side of our house. When I took the poodles out, I heard a "rarararara" like a small dog. It wasn't an exact mimic, but it sounded pretty close. I thought, well maybe it's one of the pigeons or something, but then again, how could they learn that? And now, just a minute ago, I heard that macaw "raaahht" sound. It's really starting to bug me, because it sound like a small macaw to a large one. The cryptomeria are huge, as tall as out two story house, so it wouldn't surprise me if there is a parrot in there.

What can I do? I opened the windows to the bird room so Harley can 'sing' in hopes it might be coaxed down and I set out some seed to try to lour it down. Any more adivice? I'm really hoping that I can catch this 'mystery bird'...

What you also might be hearing could be any of the Corvus family (Crows/Ravens) as they too are capable of near perfect mimicry. I would be careful on what kind of creepy crawlies/germs, etc your mystery bird could bring in should it actually come down to that window.
Not trying to discourage you but it was something that popped into my head when I read your post.

Thanks! The windows are all screened and only cracked enough to let out sound. No new parrots of unknow origin!

Yes, I thought it could be a crow/raven as well, but there is something up there colored green. I am tempted to call animal control, but then if there's nothing, that would not be good...

Can you get hold of a pair of binoculars or a camera with a long zoom lens?

Thanks! I'll try that! It's storming right now and Harley's going nuts, so after the weather clears I'll get out my camera. I've been looking and so far, seeing nothing but still hearing stuff. I could have sworn it was green, but I could be mistaken...

I am super curious now! Let us know what it is as soon as you find out!
Is it able to get in and out of where it is easily, or could it be stuck?
