Ok, this is like a game of cat and mouse. I go out with the camera and swear I see something that looks like an amazon or small macaw- but it is small. I call to it, set out food, etc... I'm sitting eating a sandwitch when I see this enormous (bigger than your average wild bird) blue bird jump out on the fence. I run out (like a mad woman, lol) to try and 'catch' the bird (or at least see if it is a parrot). Well, it wasn't enormous- but it resembled a quaker or IRN. My mom thinks I'm seeing things, but it is a parrot. I set our somemore food in hopes it will be coaxed out or at least come close enough so I can tell what it is.

My bet is it is a quaker, though aren't they illegal in Ga? Great, I'm after a criminal bird... It wouldn't shock me though as can't they live pretty well in North America? Oh well, I'm on the hunt, lol!

It could be a Quaker. In FL, if you catch or rehab a wild Quaker, it is illegal to release it back into the wild-they become pets or aviary birds. I believe the same is true in GA. If it is a wild Quaker-sunflower seeds will get his attention but where there is one, there are usually several. Look around Dominique-look at the telephone or power poles-they like to build their nests there and the power companies destroy them (and the babies). Or this could be a pet on the loose.... I had two wild Quakers in my yard earlier this week, I made sure I kept Shrek inside the house while they were around.

That would explain my seeing a green colored bird. I'll bet they are wild. I'll talk to my neigbors and see if they've seen anything. If I do happen to catch them, would I be able to keep them?
