Default Cage decision time!

I need to pull the trigger soon and decide on which cage to order for my baby B&G. I'm looking at either the HQ double, being very careful to avoid the cheaper look alikes out there, or go with a minimum 48x36" single, the benchmark I guess being the King's 506. I know I want a dometop, and really prefer the color white. I'm leaning toward the double, I have the space.

I've bookmarked these, can you guys give me your opinions?

Kingscages Online Shop (powered by Kings Cages)

or

Bird Toy Outlet - Detail

Does anyone know anything about this one vs. the 506.

Giant Dome Parrot Cage LC-9004836 Bird Cage - FREE SHIPPING!

or this one...

Prevue Pet 3155 Macaw Victorian Top Extra Large Parrot Cage: WindyCityParrot.com, Parrot Cages, Parrot Toys, Parrot Supplies, Parrot Food

Thanks.... oh here is the latest pics of the babies, there are two girls and one boy, I'm getting a girl, her name is going to be Lilo!

Awww! She is just the cutest little thing! I also love the name! But I think you should be getting 2 of them so you can have a Stitch as well!

I would go with one of the doubles. The bigger the better. I've always heard great things about King's Cages. I don't know much about HQ. I'm sure other people will comment though.

I also would go with the D.M. Cage, the newest model HQ that does not have the center divider. Like Camilla said: The longer/bigger the better IMO also.

Too bad ya aren't in my area as I could get it for ya for $525.00 total price to you.

First off, Congrats on your new baby. I love the name and she is sooooo cute!

I have an HQ Double. I think it's very well made, easy to navigate and to clean with one exception. Once you take the center divider out it still leaves an area about 6 inches high that exposes the tray grooves that is very hard to clean. (I snapped a few picture just now, that might make it easier for you see what I mean) I have a piece of acrylic screwed to that area on mine so that droppings can't get into those grooves.

Anyway, when that area was exposed on my cage, I could count on at least once a week the large morning poop being dropped precisely across the center of that divider. I have a bird in there that will never go to the bottom of the cage, so I find the piece of acrylic safe for my use. With a young and inquisitive bird I would suggest you drape paper over the center divider part.

I've never owned one of the Victorian type cages, so I can't comment on them. When I purchase again, it will be that type though.

I wish they would have had that kind when I purchased. I would have loved one without that center partition.

I don't believe there are any dome tops that are 80" long and 40" deep & 66" tall (interior room)?

I personally don't like the look of dome cages but again that is just my personal like/dislike. I have never owned one for my own use nor would I for that reason alone. With flat tops you can easily mount a purchased play-gym above or make your own; you can easily attach proper F.S. Lighting on top if you choose surface mounting vs. ceiling suspension of same.

I did not realize the size difference! Wow, plus not having the center door divider thingie to clean around...

HQ Giant Double Bird Cages - Presented by BirdsComfort.com

What about the grate on this one, can you pull the grate out to either clean it or just not use at all if the bird stays off the bottom, does it leave a gap above the tray?

Where are you located?

Well, you can actually see the answers to your questions by looking at the pics ya provided (yes but small gap). I myself would not want to leave the grate out.

Near the outskirts of Miami - "The Everglades Compund".

Where are you located?
