Default Cage cleaning chatter

For whatever reason, me cleaning cages brings on an awful lot of fid talk. This is when I realize just how smart they really are. As Im cleaning Alex's age, he is out the the big perch, Buddy on the boing, Afa and Occy is their cages. I hear Occy speaking something that sounds like a command with real authority. As he said it over and over it became much more clear. "BUDDY! BUDDY! GO BACK!!!! BUDDY GO BACK!! Then Alex, not far from ear goes. "SCREEEECH SCREEEECH!!!" (gosh I love that sound) I turn to realize Buddy was half way down the leg of his perch but heading back up! He was listening to Occy! Just amazing! So he gets back up onto the boing and starts with "ohhhh, ohhhh, whataya think? No problem! DONT BITE!" Its amazing that I get anything done!

With five cages and six fids, I clean one a day.
I take them outside and hose it down. (sometimes with a bird in it)

LOL, that is too funny! Your guys are too smart! I try and straighten the cages everyday and do a good clean everyother day. It took me over an hour last night, but they are worth it!

What a cute story!! My girl doesn't talk but feels the need to rearrange the paper after I have it down and if she is out on her perch...will push me aside just to get in to see what is REALLY going on. They are sooooo smart, Hats off to you cause I would have to sit down and watch.

I've recently adopted this approach too - this evening my plan was to clean all cages but I'm already so tired so I think I'll just focus on one.
