As usual, bird room clean up time was chatty. Mr Buddy always has a new one for me. He was up on his hoopball and I was was about to start his cage when he said (in a voice that would be in the distance) "ohhhhhhhh okayyyyyyyy! Im gonna walk the dog! okayyyyyyyyy! ALRIGHT!" Alex was laughing at him. Sometimes I think I imagine this stuff its so random.

He barks like the neighbors dog, again sounding like its from the distance. The bird room window backs to neighbors 2 houses away that walk their dogs but Ive never heard them say that. He might be hearing it though. But when we first took him in he use to say, "Wheres the dog?" "Is that the dog? why is that dog barking again!" At that time it was way too soon for him to have heard the neighbors. This kinda confirms for me that they sit and ponder memories. He still calls for someone named Jordan on occasion. I think the house he was lost from or given away from had a dog, and another critter named Calypso.

yeah, ya know, it really does bother me that he had so much love for wherever he came from that he holds on this long. I wonder what goes through his little head. I always tell him "Jordans not here honey" And I feel bad for my little boy. But he knows we love him! And he he always tells me too "I love you!!"

though funny, it has a sad note to it - makes me realize how much influence we humans have on those exceptional creatures.... at least he ended up in your house - no better place to be

yeah, my Mr Buddy, has a very special place in my heart. I wish I knew his story. I didnt push in fear someone would claim him as awful and selfish as that sounds. There was a found ad for him though for 2 months I think and no one stepped up. Ill never part with him. You would have to shoot me dead to get him from me!!

If only we could really get into their heads, and they could tell us their stories. Their capacity to remember is truly amazing, you just know they would tell us if we could only understand.
