Default Boarding help needed

Hi everyone,

I am hoping to go back to England for a week at Christmas, but that means I have to find a place to board my 2 darling ekkies.
(Leo, my little Princess Parrot, is so easy to live with, that I have many offers from trusted friends to watch him).
My avian vet does boarding, and I know that if I choose that, the birds will be safe and well treated, but I don't think they get much stimulation.

Does anyone know where or how I might start looking for a boarding place? Lisa B gave me the number of an avian vet tech who does boarding in her home, but the woman had a recent family tragedy and isn't watching birds at the moment.

I'm in Philadelphia, and I'm willing to drive fairly far if it means a good place for my birds.

Any advice most gratefully received.

Don't come here, it's FREEZING!!

I was always a bit dubious about boarding places. What if there is a bird in there with some disease and you bird catches it? Maybe it's just me being paranoid again. Is there any friends who would be willing to take care of them? Obviously you'd need to do trial runs with them and stuff first so the birds know them, but then you know pretty much they are in safe hands. But yeah I've never done it so I don't really know.
