The rain might actually keep him grounded temporarily (or at least stay put wherever he may be hiding) - might be a blessing in disguise. He might be seeking shelter from the rain for awhile in trees or shrubs, I would be on the lookout in places like that especially during the rain.

Hi, my bird flew away in Feb, in Denver, and hte temp dropped down to 28 that night (he spent the night outdoors). I found him the next day. here is what I was told that kept me looking:
1)your bird is alive
2) He is no more than 4-5 houses away in either direciton of you
3) You must keep shouting his name so he knows where to find you
4) You will probably have to climb a tree or on to someone's rooftop to get him, he isn't able to land near you or on your hand.

don't stop looking. Bacio flew away at 12:10 P.M. I shouted and looked for him until 9:50 at night, only breaking to take a drink of water and change my wet shoes becaues there was 2 feet of snow on the ground (no eating or resting). I was then back up at 6:45 a.m. and called until I found him at 11:45 a.m. Good luck.

Well...it's the end of day two and still, no Blue.
I walked till I did'nt think I would be able to walk back home.
Took all the fids out (in cages) and did not leave their site.
Wouldn't you know...not a single one of them would make a peep to entice Blue.
Ad will be in the paper tomorrow morning. Maybe that will help.

Do not give up hope. There is hope. He may be trying to come home, just as hard as you are looking for him.

Tomorrow...It's off to the woods.

I am so sorry and am just now reading this. I saw your post in the microchipping thread. I can't imagine how you feel and wish there was something I could do to help or suggestions I could offer.
