They say that they will fly UP to safety then because their muscles are exhausted and stressed they wont move. Except to climb or fly higher. But not usually DOWN.
So please dont forget to examine all the nearby trees and shrubs. From the bottom up to the higher branches.
I wouldnt be surprised if he is "hiding" in the shrubs nearby. At least I hope so.
But I know how difficult it is to see them. Frequently I don't see my own Parrotlets because being so small they blend in with all the toys and surroundings.
Maybe take binoculars? And I'd take a pillowcase or something to put him in. Just in case somebody has to climb up anywhere.
I'd ask some kids or others to be around so if he spooks they can circle the diameter of where you think he can fly so they can keep an eye on him. |
Yes, he is very hard to see even in his cage. Neighborhood kids have been looking...I offered a reward. I have been lookong in trees, shrubs and on the grass...he just blends in so well.
This bird was clipped by previous owner when I got him a few months ago. He is alowed to fly in the house and yesterday flew right
over the house. I couldn't believe he flew so well being clipped.
