I am going to keep this short...I am spending my last day with my Grandmother today...

But...Oscar didn't come home with us yesterday. His health has taken a turn for the worse...they realized he's 16 in fact. Anyway..he has started falling off his cage and they don't think he has much time left. So as much as my cousin still wanted us to take him...all humans involved felt it was unfair to put him through such a stressful change when he is not well.

So...I am sad he is ill and not with me...BUT I am happy that they loved him enough to do what is best for him right now.

My cousin has an extra cage however...suited for a quaker sized bird that she is going to give us in september so that we can get a small bird of our own!

So that's the story....poor little Oscar!

I think you are right in not taking him home. Why traumatize him. Poor little guy.

I wasn't going to tell this...but, I remember my last day with my Grandmother. She was in the hospital and she loved Pig Skins. You know those pork rind chips? Well, they wouldn't let her have any because she was dying of colon cancer....but I figured so what! I brought some for her and we had a big time eating those and laughing. I hope that when I am dying someone will give me what I want. Bless your heart! Grandmother's are special!

But just so there is no confusion..she's healthy...just heading home to newfoundland tomorrow....and my mom gets here then too! Yay!

I'm sad to hear that Oscar is sick, but its good to hear that his condition and his feelings were given sway in the decision. Bless the little guy.
