Default Birds and Wills - Provisions for Death

This is a horrible subject, but one we must ALL address.

Does everyone have some type of provisions in place for your fids in the event of your passing?

Many years ago I knew a woman who had a number of birds. She was a wonderful lady. Despite the fact that she knew her illness was terminal, she never made provisions for her fids and her husband was not a bird person. They were all in her basement and after her passing, were merely fed and watered. I know one was a hyacinth. I do recall that he was trying to get money for them. That woman, whose name will go unmentioned, must have rolled over in her grave. I never did find out what eventually happened to them, but I doubt they were friendly after all the time that passed before they were rehomed and/or sold.

Just something to think about....

I've already talked to Bee about & Hunter taking Pita if something happens to me. They are now official his God Parronts, and he's thier God Fid.

I just have to get it all written up legal and all.

Ollie would go to Matt, my bf, or my parents who are just in their lower 40's.

For the time being, I just have the Pet Legacy program at the RSPCA but I would much prefer to have a designated heir whom I know would love my babies as I do.

We are named in my husband's parent's will. They have a yellow nape and a grey.

We've not done a will yet----we really need to get one done!

valo would go to my BF and bella to me in case something would happen to me or him.... once we're living together (aka not 7hrs apart), we'll convince gayla that our fids are the cutest and that she would want to take them in case something would happen to us

I have different people in my will for certain birds, and monies alloted from my life insurance policy to go along with them to their new homes.
Sydney and Emma go to the same home. Stirling goes to a home with a few greys already. Harley goes to a home with Amazons, and Ollie goes to a relative.
