I've definatly thought about adding another macaw to the house. I feel that is would not only be wonderful to have another teddy bear but also for Harley to have another macaw as a 'buddy' (she flips when she sees them) I definatly want a BTM after meeting the one at the bird show. The personality of them is just amazing!

Maybe a TAG someday, they are really sweet but after having Echo, I don't think I need nother busy-body, lol! No more ekkies, despite how much I adore them. I don't think I want to sign up for another female and of course, no males, lol!

Someday I want a GCC or a Sun when I have my own house and thick walls. Otherwise I have 7 that could live another 20 years, so unless I find a partner in the mean time who likes birds or one of my many other animals go to the 'great beyond', I won't be adding to this flock.

We plan to add a HY and a bird of prey (probably a Harris Hawk) for sure. Other then that we have no plans in particular. It'll be a few years down the road when we get a bigger place. But that's the goal right now. Both of ours are rehomers....so the next 2 will be bought from a breeder as babies. A Hy mainly because it's next to impossible to find them here anywhere but a breeder and the hawk because of the training it needs.

We may get more along the road as well...but for now that is all that we are planning.

three would be enough for me. right now i only have 2. this past weekend i went to the bird fair in norcross,ga. i fell in love with the yellow shouldered amazons. btw, i finally got a play stand for the brats. only $70. sassy likes it but cuddles doesn't. raddaughter, that btm was awesome. now we can truly say we have seen one in person. we were at the bird fair on sun.

Good question Emily.
I have done my "duty" with Cleo. I am enjoying it, to an extent. She's very sweet and I"ve come to love her cantankerous ways. I like a lil feist in a gurl. haha.
I am really stricken with the Caique, the white bellied. I don't know if they are all as friendly as the hand-tamed one we saw at Petsmart. But, I find myself wanting to go back a lot to see him and play with him. He eagerly hops on a finger thru the bars or sometimes we talk them into getting him out for us. He flips upside down, plays, has NEVER screamed. Seems like he really wants to be with you and entertain. He's small. I would love to have a Macaw, but they with the tailfeathers are large birds. I do like em tho.
But, I can't pay $1,100.00 for him, despite all that AND my kids whines for him. I dropped it all on the new camper.
It depends. With birds, once people know you "do" birds, I have had several offers to take birds in. A lady wanted to give me a scarlet macaw last month, but she warned me that the bird is "not nice". K, nevermind, I'm still getting Cleo in line. One "not nice" bird in a house at a time is sufficient. The bird was cared for physically, just it's owner died and the owner's mother had it to take care of and it wasn't getting attention like it used to.
Good question tho!

Two spoiled birdies is more than enough for me. My Amazon will always be a dream.

I am open to adding another macaw in the future, as a companion to Sergeant Pepper..as we have 3, two of them re-homed with issues. But right now, I don't have the space to comfortably fit another macaw... I need to wait until one of my 5 sons finally moves out. They seem too comfortable here! I am visualizing an empty room, equipped with branches and boings, all ready for the macaws to move into....
