A bird laugh Another of my stories. This is funny, well not for the bird, but it was hilarious. I hope the bird was ok in the end.
My husband was driving home from work, a flock of Rosella's flew in front of his car, he hit one. In his rear vision mirror he saw it hit the tarmac. He stopped, reversed, picked the poor thing up and brought it home. This was long before I had PBFD birds I want to add.
He rushes in the house, bird in a rag, gives it to me. Before I can really get a look, it get's it's bearings, and takes off in the house. We are frantically trying to let it gain access to outside. Hubby tries to catch hold of it before it smashes into the windows anymore times than it already has, pulls out half of it's tail feathers in the process. I have the door open, I am screaming at him, he is frantic, the bird hit's it's head on the door frame on the way out.
Pheew! Poor thing with interfeering human's. It is finally free, was only stunned.
So when hubby and I are driving along a few days later and another flock of Rosella's are in our path, I say to him if you hit one, don't pick it up off the road for God's sake, it will look at ur car and think, arghhhh, not him again, thank's but no thank's I would sooner take my chances on the road. |
