Default Bird Burn.....

It is 7:21 Central time.....someone just posted this on YAHOO questions. Anyone have any any ideas?

My male parakeet was flying around and flew on top of a light bulb. After five seconds he flew down from it and i wanted to make sure it wasn't extremely hot so I touched it.It was boiling and i now have a blister on my finger.I'm not sure what to do,my bird is acting normal but hes all puffed out.The vets are closed so i can't call or take him in anywhere to get checked. What should I do?

Additional Details

He doesn't have any blisters or burn marks or anything

That is what I advised....along with flushing his feet with cool water. First and foremost, I told her I was not an expert and she should take him to a vet. And advised her to put him in a small crate with a towel and a heat source in case he goes into shock.....keep him quiet/calm.

Another reader told her to put aloe vera on it.

Poor birdie.
I have a flat top stove that I worry about. I always make sure all the birds are caged when I cook and, till i'm sure it's cooled down. Kind of like a ceiling fan. Don't let the birds out if you want to run one...But, how do you controle the use of lighting?

I know, I worry about the torch lamp in the fids room. We plan to go to HD tomorrow to look for track lighting. Id prefer pot lights but we arent that handy. Anyone here ever install track lights? Is it hard to get the wiring to the wall switch? Or do you run it on the outside of the wall?
