Cute video, what would Humphrey do if you put her in the sink where she can be on dry land yet get wet in water? My sun likes to bath in the bathroom basin with a gentle stream and the plug out. He does take baths from the edge of the dish like that only wetting his head he doesn't yet get into a bath and get wet too much. Everything arround the bath is soaked but not the bird. In the shower he just sits on the perch and wont get wet. The breeders outside get in and bath in dishes about 20cm diameter and very shallow. The outside rinknecks love to bath in the rain or by hosepipe, they dont bath in the dish.

I wonder if it has something to do with GCC's being from rain forest country, and Red Bellies being from arid Savanah type country?
Nate it has a LOT to do with it-I think it is hardwired into them. Same with Chaska being from semi-tropical wetlands like the Pantanal and the Princesses and Tiels from the arid Outback of Australia. They all get their squirt baths once a week but don't really crave bathing. Same with drinking water, Chaska drinks way more than the others.

If you can do it every day, go for it! Birds outside bathe daily. Do you ever watch them in the morning when the dew has settled on the lawn? They have a grand time! I have a bird bath in my back yard. I sit on my deck and just watch the birds flock there to bathe.
