The pet store hosts some of the cats needing homes (who are kept in great conditions), and signs for the humane society are all over the store. They have to know the conditions the birds are in. It makes me so angry. I'll try animal control I guess. The name of the store is something like Manhattan Aquarium Co. The fish tanks are impeccably clean, the visiting cats are well cared for...I just can't figure out why nobody cares about the 15 or so birds they have in there. |

These conditions should be reported to animal protection, if its a small town then we need to head for the closest large city with a animal abuse investigator.
Name of the city, name of the pet shop....then its a search issue.
Keeping a list (handy) of your vet, wildlife center, animal abuse center, any numbers you may need on short notice will always benefit you, one simply doesn't know when they will be needed...
Then to make sure this issue is investigated a cry for help is needed, matters not where you live, rally support, when I needed help I called just about every animal shelter, animal rescue, humane societies, and asked for help, including members here on PC, the more phone calls made to the investigator the better...this is what it takes to get action and help to those birds.
Believe me....this is what it takes.....there's members here that will help these birds if the proper phone number is posted, the more messages left for the investigator the faster they will respond...bottom line.
I live here in Minnesota...but my words will be heard by the animal abuse investigator near you....matters not where you are located...what matters is your message demanding an investigation....
The sooner we all begin to make the call...the sooner these birds are helped.
