#1 | | | Back from a trip to Gabriel Foundation Well, I got to spend time with my beloved feathered friends this weekend. The Gabriel Foundation is doing well. They have completed the HUGE outdoor flight areas for the male cockatoos, which is just spectacular to see. Also, the outdoor flights are full of toys, logs, hanging ropes, swings, and gorund baths. It's just wonderful to see how well cared for those little darlings are! however, they currently have 350 birds, with 100 on the waiting list. Oi. I of course am thinking of helping relieve them of some birds.. heehee!! I got to see my sponsored male molluccan. He always come down for scritch. Also, my severe macaw Ira came right up and snuggled wiht me for the morning. I just love him to pieces... They have two 50 year old white front amazons that someone dropped off to be euthanized for no other reason than 'they were old'. These little guys are very precious and if my boyfriend doesn't keep tabs on me, they may be in CA soon... |

Maybe when they are in my area (Miami Fla. - The Everglades Compound), I will be free & able to meet them.
If they get any of the following birds needing a great home, I most likely would adopt them, pay for shipping & make additional contributions to their program - like I have in the past:
Jardines; Caiques; Greys; Ekkies; certain Amazons; Sennies; Meyers; certain Pionus & maybe a couple of others. |
