Back from camping with Z! Hi all, What a great weekend we had! She is an incredible grey! Friday she sat on her perch in the kitchen while we all got ready packing coolers etc. I showed her her carrier and let her walk in and around it. Packed it with toys, towels, nutriberries and and orange half and we were off. No squawking when we put her in it at all! While we were riding, I heard he playing with her keys and some sticks. Once we got to the campground. We set up her travel cage
and in she went for dinner. Then the fun started! People were amazed by her, I guess people don't camp much with birds in NH! We all went for a walk around the campground and waited for our friends to show up. There were 16 of us all together and Z let everyone of them hold her! Much to hubbys and sons dismay, she only growled at the men! But none the less, they still held her. One of my friends was a big hit with her. Zakiya loved her. She ate dinner with us and sat and watched the volleyball tournament with us till the mosquitos came out. Then back in her cage in the camper for the night. Which I covered but left the front open so she could see us all outside. When I checked on her, she was her fluffy, one footed, eyes closed self! Next morning she was a bit disoriented and it took her awhile to get situated, but once again, she was a joy with us! My daughter and I were on "bird educating" duty all weeknd which was fine with me as she is our family member and I wanted people to know how to treat and approach her properly!
Saturday night she had chicken wings and zuchinni for dinner with my son holding her! Even he was shocked! It was kareoke night last night so she stayed out and listened to the singing with us till again the mosquitos ruined her fun! LOL. Then this am. I was awakend to the weirdest, low voiced chatter I have heard from her ever. She was definately trying out her new voice! Then she found her old one and we all were up! LOL We ate breakfast, packed her carrier and off we went. Everyone was so sorry to be leaving her! They loved her! But the best part was when we were riding home and I looked back in her carrier to see her sleeping on one foot during a torential, downpouring thunderstrom! When we got home, I put her on her hoopball where she immediately began her repotoire of chirps, whistles, clucks & kissing noises! What a great weekend! I was so proud of her! Hmm... where will we go next?? Here are some pics. Hope you like them! |
