Baby has found his forever home. Saturday I met up with a lady who breeds as a hobby, and she took Baby to live with her and be her pet. She also has other GCC's so Baby will have some company. I have already heard back from her, and she said that Baby is just the tamest and sweetest GCC and she is in love to death with him. I am going to miss Baby but I know I did my part of rescuing him from the conditions he use to be in and providing him a home that all his health and nutritional, and loving needs will be met. I feel very comfortable with this lady as she has had everything from Macaws, 2's, Congo's, down to budgies. We talked about diet, and I was VERY happy to hear that all her fids are on fresh fruits and veggies. So Baby will continue to be healthy and happy.
Now on the the good news. The lady gave me a 5 week old baby Quaker that I am currently handfeeding, and just head over heals in love with. She sat down, and told me exactly how she does everything, the amount, the consistency the temperature and then SHOWED me how. She also told me if I needed any help to feel free to call her at any time. And I also have another "local" breeder that would be more than willing to help me if I run into any troubles. However things are going great, he is more or less spoon fed so I don't have to worry about shoving anything down his little throat, and he is alredy experimenting with seeds and I have started giving him a little organic "human baby food" to get him started on veggies and fruits. He is also starting to build up his wings muscles by flapping a lot and will actually, half fly/jump to very short distances. Here are some pics.........before I start getting shot at.
