Default baby regression?

I've been watching adorable videos on youtube about baby parrots. I've seen a few being hand fed, with a syringe like I've seen before. But a few of them show baby birds being hand fed with some mush on a big spoon.

I thought this was interesting because whenever I give Humphrey oatmeal (made with water) - one of her favorite things - I give it to her on a spoon. Well, she sucks it back and jerks her head repeatedly, and she always reminded me of a baby bird when she ate it. I wonder if it reminds her of being hand fed, and she is acting like a baby bird? It is mush I'm feeding her, after all. If that's the case, would it be a lovely, comforting thing for her, or something I shouldn't be doing? I only feed her oatmeal once very few weeks, when I have it.

I think it is just comforting for Humphrey. I dont think that it is something to stop. I raise sun conures and Peanut a juvenile likes to come help with handfeeding or rather is he "official self employed taste tester". He does sometimes eat like a baby and jerks his head and pumps his wings. It is just because it is mushy. Other times he may just lick a bit off the spoon. I have also heard of bigger birds like macaws that eat off a spoon like that.

Ollie does this too on occasion. I don't think there is anything wrong with it.

Jasmine does that too! She'll also sometimes make that baby Ekkie hiccup noise! So cute

I agree with everyone. I don't think they ever forget their hand feeding days!
