You are probably right Camille I think I just needed to vent a little bit.

It does scare me a little to have to have it around his neck first on and last off, especially since he gets so impatient :S

I've used both the flight suit and the aviator harness. Flight suits are great for taking a bird to someone's home who is not comfortable with a "pooper" in the house! I prefer the aviator harness but it all comes down to what the bird is comfy with. It may take a while for Schroeder to accept the aviator as it does require slipping the loop over his head. Once I get the aviator fitted to my bird, I loosen it somewhat to remove it but never have to adjust as much as the first time I put it on my bird (if you know what I mean).

I've also tried the feather-tether, which I never use anymore. Darn thing has so many clips and hardware that it always took me forever to figure out how to get the darn thing on!! From what I've read, I don't think I am alone.

I am an aviator harness user ALL THE WAY... My Tag doesnt really mind hers, though she does fight a bit putting it on. My Severe allows us to put his on him- But you would SWEAR we are killing him from how he screams and squawks- But it is all for show, he doesn't bite... The Eclectus, well- We are still a ways from even TRYING to handle her that much... A few short months ago she was still going for blood even if I got near her

I have flight suits, too- But they all HATE them.... In fact, the blue one that I have for the Severe has caused him to DETEST anything blue- and attack it!! He is afraid of that color now- And I suspect it is caused by the Flight suit!

Flight suits are fine for my little guys. They don't like putting them on and they don't mind the velcro thingy but they chew like crazy on the metal part of the lanyard clip.

this is kinda an interesting thread for me because i just ordered 4 aviator harnesses - 2 for my conures and 2 for the amazons. i know it will take time to get them used to the harnesses (if EVER), but now im unsure...

how are the dvd instructions? im currently trying to work on my amazon to be able to scratch under his wing...he's not to comfortable about that right now. conures are touch-and-go, but i can flip them on their backs so i guess its only a matter of time.

i've never tried a flight suit and i dropped the idea after hearing that it maybe unsafe to take my birds out in those.
