We go on vacation every year about this time, so we board our BGM Aruba at the vet's, and have them do a complete wellness checkup while she's there - and all is fine! The CBC, yeast, gram stain plus/minus, etc - perfect! Her calcium was a little low last year (8.5) , but now it's 9.8. They said she was much happier in the back room, seeing all the stuff going on, not as noisy.

One odd thing - they weighed her at 1268g. I weighed her before boarding and she was 1150g. Today she's 1163g. I've been weighing her weekly and she's never gone over 1170g. The vet said it doesn't matter, as long as the weight is stable via my scale, which it has been. But I can't imagine a BGM with a full crop tipping the scales 100 plus grams.

We wondered the same thing when our birds weight always seem to be way off from what the vet's scales read. Our vet said that as long as the weight is consistent on the scales you use on a regular basis then it is nothing to worry about.

It's nice to know that everything is good inside and out. Good girl Aruba. And mommy. lol.

Just took one yesterday, homebird! Although I don't look so good - the day before, my day started at 5 am and didn't end until 11pm with all the return home traveling...
