Thanks for the update Jared. I had followed every video and story while she was growing up! It was so nice to get to see her again. Glad to read she's feeling 100% now and will soon being flying alongside Merlin.

Ariel has sure grown up to be a beauty, hasn't she? I love the colors after their first molt--so vivid compared to their first set of baby feathers.

I'm waiting to see what happens with my Scarlet, Ceilidh's flight feathers. He actually broke all his flights off after we did a baby trim on him. He would get to flapping so hard, and if he hit anything, a feather would break off. He hasn't gone through a big molt, yet, and I hope we won't have to worry about him continually breaking his flight feathers off as they come in. I may have to ask our AV about the advisability of doing the same thing with him that you did with Ariel.

Irish - if it is really bad the same thing might happen. Ariel managed to keep one out of 4 newly molted flight feathers. It was tough to make the call to sedate her but seemed like the right thing to do. I hope you don't run into that problem. Ours was perhaps exacerbated by Merlin annoying her continously.
