Re: 4th Fireworks Birds did fine, but as usual, the dogs freaked out and lost it. Not enough Rescue Remedy and Bendadryl in our city to keep those guys calm and unaffected. It helped, slightly, though, for which we are grateful. The siding on our house wasn't eaten by any dog, although Bitsy still won't venture outside after dark. I figure he'll be over it in a couple of weeks...... I hope..............
Birds truly just slept right through it, with only the occasional beady birdy eyeball opening in surprise when a particularly large (illegal) firework went off within feet of our house.
I don't like the 4th of July. Too many privately owned, illegal fireworks, here. Not only does it totally freak out the dogs, but it's also an extreme firehazard in a neighborhood full of tall, old Doug Firs, and houses almost all sided with cedar shingles. I will truly rejoice if private fireworks are ever prohibited. |
