Who all has 10 or more fids? I mean birds that you interact with and are tame, not breeders.

I think I have 33 of my own and 4 I'm babysitting (though I don't know that I really interact much with my finches, I'm just the "feeder hand" that covers them at night)

I have 16, plus I am taking care of 6 more for friends. (I have one other cockatiel, that is not in my signature, that I kept from the last bunch of babies I hand fed) Overall, I think I have over 60 birds in the house. (I breed Gouldians)

No wonder I am so tired all the time.....

We have more than 10 birds (6 finches, 2 lovebirds + we're birdsitting my daughter's, 5 macaws and one conure), but we only interact with the macaws, conure and my daughter's lovebird. The finches freak if you put your hand in their cage, and although the 2 fancy-colored lovebirds won't bite, they don't want to be handled, either. They're simply noisy eye-candy :-).

Oh, btw, Deb--Mikey did fine last night. Ate like a piggy and didn't throw it back up. Still had food in his crop at bedtime (not surprising, as he'd been eating < 1/2 hour before lights-out). Also got email update on Blue :-).

whew...I feel better now! most recent additions (2 ekkies) made 10.

We've had 16 at one time. I was very busy most of the time, but I loved every minute of it. Miss it in fact. Right now we have 5.

Does it count if breeders are tame and friendly outside the breeding season?
Tinki & Spikey are handraised sun breeders very tame when not breeding.
Most of the budgie colony likes to land on the bringer of food in the morning. I have never tried to tame them, they have just decided I am not dangerous.

Angie, sure. We can count "multi-tasking" fids even if they breed. What I meant is don't count aviary birds who are strictly for breeding but not tame and interactive.

Deb, I don't think anyone can come close to your 60!!!

Around 30 I think.
Some of my Tiels prefer that I just talk to them, but they sure come running when mommy is in the room.
