Default Swears My Parrot: Owners hunt for cursing macaw

A FOUL-MOUTHED parrot with a Glasgow accent has gone missing.

Tia the blue and gold macaw fled his perch after central heating engineers left the door of his home open yesterday morning.

His owners appealed for locals in Yoker, Glasgow, to keep their ears open for his blue outbursts.

The 3ft bird says "Hiya," "Geeza kiss," and "Are ye dancin?".

But he also trots out "F*** off, " and "Ya b******".

Owners Celia Stevens and Andrew Holmes are desperate for him back.

Celia, 52, of Dornel Avenue, said: "He'll never survive long on the streets.

"He only swears to get attention because he knows people will stop and listen.

"Normally he dances about on his perch and just says, 'Are ye dancin?'"

Celia's daughter Kelly-Ann, 19, niece Chelsea Graham, 1 6, and nephew Sean Graham, 14, were devastated by Tia's disappearance.

And Celia was still to break the news to grandchildren Elise, five, and Caleb, three.

Celia added: "Things like chocolate and mushrooms would kill Tia because they are toxic to him.

"We've spoken to the vet and he says it is imperative that we get him back soon.

"His wings are part-clipped and the bright colours won't do him any favours among other birds. He'll probably be attacked."

Celia lives opposite St Brendan's primary school. She said: "He likes children shouting and we're hoping that will attract him back."

I know it has been said before... But why do people teach these birds to cuss?
My friend has her mothers bird in which the bird is very vocal... he has a wonderful vocabulary... then sprinkled throughout cuss words ... He can really get going sometimes.. My girlfriend has to keep the windows closed in the summer.... People think she is fighting with someone...
I know sometimes they pick it up on accident... but you have to take that into consideration, when you choose to parront a bird...

Hopefully someone finds the poor guy and returns him.

RE swearing-My wife and I keep each other in check and when I have friends over I make sure they tone down their vocabularies.

A FOUL-MOUTHED parrot has been reunited with its owners - after asking a passer-by to dance.

Blue and gold macaw Tia went missing in Yoker, Glasgow - but was traced yesterday after screeching his catchphrase, "Are ye dancing, ya b******?"

Flats caretaker Jim McCrory, 39, said: "I was checking some bins with a colleague when we heard squawking noises.

"We couldn't believe it when a strange voice asked if we wanted to dance. My colleague said, 'That bird's famous - he's in the Record.'

"We lured him into a birdcage with a banana from my lunchbox but he didn't seem too pleased.

"Instead of thanking me, he was hopping from side to side and telling me to f*** off.'"

Tia is owned by Drew Holmes, right, and Celia Stevens, who said: "We're so happy to have him back."
