In line with our commitment to a lifetime of education (our motto), we have invited two very special speakers to come to Bird Paradise for a Parrot Training and Enrichment Workshop .....

First is Robin Shewokis. Robin is the owner of one of our most popular toy lines, The Leather Elves. The Leather Elves started as a family business creating enrichment toys for parrots. Robin later realized (in 2001) the need for enrichment in other species and began expanding their lines to zoos. She was recognized and awarded a Certificate of Appreciation at the 2006 AAZK conference for her contributions to the field of enrichment with regard to captive exotic animals.

Second is Barbara Heidenriech. Barb is the author of Good Bird! A Guide to Solving Behavioral Problems in Companion Parrots and The Parrot Problem Solver: Finding Solutions to Aggressive Behavior. Her site, Good Bird Inc. - Fostering the human/animal bond with positive reinforcement and her company, Good Bird™, Inc. was founded to address the growing interest in positive reinforcement training with parrots.
