New Port Richey, Florida - Mr. Wisenheimer is talking, but he's not telling Lisa Steele what he's been up to for the past few months.
Steele thought she'd seen the last of Mr. Wisenheimer after he accidentally escaped from his cage in New Port Richey nearly 7 months ago.
The Quaker Parrot first flew into Steele's yard during a storm 5 years ago and became part of her family, learning to talk and laugh.
Steele was heartbroken and afraid she would never hear Mr. Wisenheimer say "whatcha doin?" again. In November, Steele took out a ad offering a reward for her green and grey gabber and a newspaper even wrote a story about Steele's search for her missing feathered friend.
But there was no sight of the chatty bird, at least until this week.
A co-worker of Steele's pointed out a found bird ad in the newspaper. Steele called the woman in St. Petersburg who found a Quaker Parrot.
The bird had landed on the woman's back as she and her husband walked their dogs.
Steele hoped that the bird was Mr Wisenheimer, but the woman who found him said that the bird had not spoken a word.
But as soon as he saw Steele, the bird ran over to the side and said "Mommy's pretty bird, watcha doin."
Steele knows she beat the odds in the return of Mr. Wisenheimer and says she is the "luckiest girl in the world."
