Parrot and owner reunite after flood
By CURT SLYDER

MONTICELLO -- Claudia Shown has her Mo Jo back.

Mo Jo, the 6-month-old African grey parrot, is back with his owner after nearly drowning in floodwaters that badly damaged Shown's house on Brandywine Lane.

Good Samaritans pulled the bird, cage and all, from Shown's house on Tuesday, whisking him to safety in their fishing boat.

"It's like heaven," Shown said.

She and Mo Jo were recovering from their ordeal Friday in Monticello's Best Western Brandywine Inn & Suites hotel.

ME TOO!

I foudn it so sad that cruel "rescuer" wouldnt let her take her bird

"Ma'am while were all about to drown, and we have PLENTY of room on the rescue boat, Im going to have to ask you to take that small carrier your bird's in and put the bird back inside the cage, while the waters are rising, so I can hurry up and get you to shore."

GOSH. I couldnt believe what was going on in that "rescuer"s mind.

POOR BIRD :*(

But I am SOO glad he was saved form such nice people!!!!! GOD BLESS THEM!
