Macaw found after flying into Top of Troy building belongs to Royal Oak man

TROY -- A pet macaw parrot that flew the coop and ended up in the custody of Troy police will soon be heading home.

"He's pretty friendly," said Troy police Lt. Gerry Scherlinck. "He'll walk right up to you and eat out of your hand."

The bird was spotted about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday when it flew into the side of the Top of Troy building, 755 W. Big Beaver.

"It's the tallest building in the city," Scherlinck said. "He hit the building and fell to the court yard." [LINK: Read on…]
