I'd like to take a moment of your time. As you know, ParrotChatter is conducting a fund drive for The Gabriel Foundation in the form of paid ParrotChatter subscriptions to support the Foundation's Sanctuary Program. I think we're all aware of how important the foundation's work is, and how much money it costs to provide care for these castaway birds. If there's any doubt in your mind about that, please take a few minutes to read some of the articles on our
TGF Forum page, or browse the pages of
The Gabriel Foundation's website.
Believe me, I know how many worthwhile causes are vying for our money these days, but please won't you consider helping us to help them? Membership levels start at just $25.00 per year, which breaks down to a little over
two dollars a month. What does two dollars a month buy you these days? In this case, not only does it help to buy loving, professional care for these birds, it also allows you to stand proudly with your fellow members here at ParrotChatter and state clearly that we
do care, and that together we
will make a difference. The worldwide web can be a pretty cold place sometimes, but you can help us prove that that's not the case here in our community. We may be spread physically across the globe, but we all share a common goal, and that is to see that parrots everywhere have a good life, whether in the wild, in our homes, or as too often happens, in sanctuary. In most cases, sanctuary is the last hope for these birds. There can be many reasons why a parrot ends up in sanctuary, but most of them will never live anywhere else. It's up to us and other folks like us to make the rest of their lives as comfortable, stimulating, and happy as possible.
Please give it some thought, and should you decide you can help, you'll find all the information you need about how to
become a sponsoring member right here. It's quick and easy to do. I'm not asking for much. Not much time, and not much money. But the reward you get is priceless! I'm not talking about the site benefits. I'm talking about the opportunity to let a little light shine across the miles, to hit those aviary windows where a flock awaits inside to welcome the new day. Hear them? The rustling feathers, the sleepy calls - soft at first - but increasing in volume as they greet the sun, raucous and joyful now, secure in the knowledge that this is their home, and breakfast will soon be on the way. They thank you, and I thank you.
