Default Male vs Female [Destruction]

I was talking to a friend with a male ekkie the other day. She was saying how destructive her male it. He tears up more molding than any of her other birds. I was kinda shocked by this because Lucy (and I know she's not the most normal bird on the planet) has never destroyed anything aside from a little picking at her rope perch, and that was once. But now that I think about it, our previous male did a lot of chewing as well. Are any of your ekkies destructive? Have you noticed there being a difference between the sexes?

My 7 month old male ekkie would chew his wood toys once in a while unlike my grey and B&G.

Occy only likes to ring his bell. No chew issues with him. I wish he would chew so he could grind his own beak down. But not my moulding!

I think it depends on the bird I have extreme destructive and also non destructive suns, sex does not make a difference.

I know how that is! I wish Lucy would at least play a little and enjoy eating her toys, but noooooo!

I just found this interesting b/c I know there are some instances I've heard of where the male or female is more desturctive then the other...

Perhaps the owner could join us here?

It would be interesting to explore why his male is such a chewer. It could be a bad habit or an emotional response? He could be acting out his aggression or maybe he's looking for something? Do wild Ekkies eat bugs?
