What's the meaning of this? I've noticed over the past few months that Harrison makes a real high pitched beeeep sound when my husband or I leave the room she's in. She does it a few times until we're out the door and then doesn't do it again. Then, last night, she was on my lap with her bowl of balls and I was holding one of them. I was kinda rattling it in my hand and talking to my husband next to me...I wasn't really paying attention to what she was doing. She made that same sound so I looked at her and saw she was trying to get the ball out of my hand as I was rattling it. So, I kinda recreated the whole thing and payed attention this time and saw that she was kinda lunging for the ball and when she couldn't get it, she made the sound as if she were trying to communicate with me. So, I did this a few times and gave her the ball each time she made the sound. What do you guys think? It makes me sad to think she's trying to tell us not to leave her when we're walking out of the room...do you think she's trying to tell us that? I doubt it's "bye bye, have a nice day, etc etc..."...lol. |
