Default Look what the Easter Bunny brought

Joy-Boy and Joy-Girl (previously named) have joined the flock. Their previous mom is a great lady & has an open invite to come visit in their new digs!

On the way to a new home

Settling in

Meeting the neighbors
I'm keeping a close eye out for territory wars, but so far, so good!

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you - for the chuckle. So, 'Joy-Boy' and 'Joy-Girl' weren't your inspiration, but they are terribly tender names & evoke a 'hippie' or 'love child' kind of thing going on there. Nice for the previous owners, who obviously loved them, that they get to see them in your wonderful aviary.

Maybe they should be renamed Bliss-Boy & Bliss-Girl.

You're a peach. They are lovely by the way. Do they sing much?

They are beautiful - and couldn't have asked for a better home in your aviary!

Oh, jeez, I hate to always be the party pooper but, contrary to what most people believe, canaries are not aviary birds unless they are all females. It's just too stressful for males to share a territory.

So you think Mary's going to be doomed? Those males are going to war? Or could they set up territories & be OK? I think she's keeping watch - for that very reason.

Yah, its a drag telling the downs of things - but necessary. So thanks.

I am watching them carefully -- I have two boys in there now, who have lived together peacefully for years. If they start in on each other at all, I can put the new ones in the spare flight. They greeted each other and have been ignoring each other -- we will see what happens late in the day when they all get more active. Thanks for the heads up.

This may sound kind of silly, comparing Canaries to Bulls.
My Dad has always kept his bulls in pairs if he can. They are usually 'brothers' - from the same sire & grew up with each other. They don't fight & protect the herd together. Now if another smaller herd has a lone bull with them & their fields are close - well the roaring never seems to stop & the ground is torn up with their antics.

Have your 2 Canary boys been together since birth?

Man, I want a Canary!! Have wanted one for quite a while but haven't been able to find any around here. The only time I found any was in a pet shop in Bangor (about 90 miles away, and I think they were going for close to 100 bucks).

Jac, Canaries and Bulls.......that's a riot! I expect Canaries are a lot easier to clean up after, though.

way too cute. Possibly if there is to be war, plenty nests and dishes is the answer, you cant defend everything so they will each have own territory. Aviary is big enough to give the loser a chance to escape.
