since I posted pics of my granddaughters budgies.
I have a hard time taking pics through the bars but the would fly away if I let them out.

We want a budgie! They are simply gorgeous! Ruby says "step-up!"

they look so healthy! that's great that they get to be outside like that

I'm thinking about putting up a breading box since they are so bonded to each other.

What pretty budgies your granddaughter has. They are a beautiful color.

They are both lovely & I can see the temptation to breed them.

But I'd encourage you to resist if you can.

Regarding taking photos when the birds are in the cage. I have had good shots when I put the camera lens right up to the bars & make sure the lens can't 'see' the bars.
e.g. - sorry this is so large ... you can see one bar is kind of out of focus, on the right side.


Another Budgie enthusiast pointed out that he didn't like to see the horizontal & vertical tilted in any way as it distracts from the bird. [hope you know what I mean here - just photo talk] Ever since I've tried to keep those pretty straight - even when the perspective is more extreme.

Thanks for posting photos of them. It's good to see them. I think a number of members also have Budgies but they're perhaps more concerned with the 'issues' of the larger birds. Maybe they too have difficulty capturing their beauty thru bars.

I just love budgies. Although I have bred budgies in a small cages many years ago, they enjoy aviaries so much I would never do so again. They are bundles of energy and seem to use and need every bit of space.

My lense is too big to fit between the bars.. It's not just a point & shoot.
