Default Could Abi be sick?

I found him up on the canopy earlier...he did not eat his seed and he is all puffed and not acting normally. He shakes his head from side to side...I am worried! What could this be? I then saw him right outside my bedroom door laying like a duck on the patio and then when he saw me he flew up to the canopy. Usually when I step up to check on him on that canopy, if he is laying down he jumps up.....now he just stays puffed and shaking his head. He seems not to be able to get comfortable and keeps changing positions. Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanx, Donna
Here is a pic I just took.

A puffed bird unless it is sleeping is never good. Head shaking side to side is often parasites. I don't know anything specific to pigeons.

i DONT KNOW ABOUT PIGEONS EITHER BUT DOES NOT SOUND HEALTHY AT ALL. IS IT POSSIBLE THAT ABBY HAS GOTTEN INTO SOUR SEED SOMEWHERE.
MY THOUGHTS ARE WITH YOU AND ABBY

POSSIBLY A VET VISIT IS NEEDED HERE.
LETS HOPE ITS NOTHING TOO SERIOUS..

I went to check o him a little while later and he was gone. If he returns before dusk for his night feeding he is probably ok....if he does not return I will worry. Will keep everyone posted. I am in a rural area of Florida and I have a regular vet close by but no Avian vet around here anywhere.
Thanx for your help...Donna

Abi did not come back yesterday but is here now. I just put his seed out. Not eating! He is perched on one leg and not cooing either. Arty? Any idea what could be wrong with him?
Thanx, Donna

Donna........Arty or anyone guessing what may be wrong with him isn't going to help him (I don't think). I suggest you catch him up asap and drive to an A.V. outside of your area (or even use the regular vet you mentioned who most likely has the drugs there and who most likely knows how to give a shot IM) if you think he has a serious problem. If you had Baytril and an anti-fungal around, you could prolly administer them yourself, if an A.V. visit was not possible for whatever reason.

You might also check with a pet shop(s) nearby for a possible contact with a local breeder who may be able to help you or some Ma & Pa pet shop owners are usually fairly qualified to help themselves - if any of those are within the driving distance you are willing to travel to help Abi.

You could even check the local paper for bird sale ads by private individuals and call them. Ya might get lucky and one of them might be able to help (if qualified) or might be able to steer you in the right direction. Just some tips.

I totally agree, getting him to a vet is paramount. Could be anything and I would not recommend an unseen diagnosis from other than a vet.

Please get him to the vet as it looks like he could be sick. He needs to be examined by an avian vet and medicated if necessary. Like the above post mentioned a qualified person that breeds or keeps birds may be able to help you also, as they may recognize the symptoms and have medications on hand.
