Not that this is a big deal with cockatoo's but it was a HUGE moment for this M2. He is wild, totally scared of hands and people. But tonight, I was working with him after what I consider normal hrs. for birds, he should be in bed but I kept him up tonight to watch tv with me. Well, my human kiddo came in with her boyfriend (who I can't stand) but he wanted to see him, so I stepped him up and took him into the front room. He was really scared. He put his head on my shoulder and made this noise (one I haven't heard with cockatoos). My first reaction was oh great I'm gonna get a bite from him on the chest....but no my mind took over with and I reached up and cuddled his head and pulled him in closer. He let me.....

I couldn't believe it, I wanted to cry from him. He probably hasn't known love or kindness for a while and he was probably just sitting there thinking hey this crazy lady is not going to hurt me... I stood there for 5 min's petting his head, his crown and holding him close.... I LOVED IT!!!!
