Default Figaros' Bio in All about Budgies

You can find Fiagaro's Bio here: A Standard Budgie from a pet store

Hi Haley. First up I want to say that I think you should reconsider thinking Figaro is a Dominant Pied. Does she have any white on her belly?

I think she's like Jerry - a beautiful Opaline & maybe a Violet ~ she sure has a rich deep colour.

Figaro is a beauty.

Thanks!

I heard that Domiants have stripes of colour on their bodies, or a headspot. If you look at her in the light, she has stripes of purple and cobalt. I don't know if that counts or not.

Maybe she is...I have to check her.

Figaro is very beautiful! I also believe she's opaline since she has the reverse bar spacing on her head and the body color continues down through the wings.

She's really lovely.

The Dominant Pied does have a head spot - at the back of the head like my Laker - who is a type of Pied ~ A Clearflight Pied.

The Dominant Pied also always has a white or yellow band across the belly.

Below you can see a photo of my 2.
The Opaline has head stripes but they are not black & the body colour runs down the back as well as the front, like a vest. You can see that Laker's regular striped back & head says he is not an Opaline.

Rio is an Opaline but he is lighter than your bird because he has grey wings instead of the normal black. Laker has the yellow dot at the back of his head & its yellow because he's a yellow-face. He has a white tail (or dark blue) & white flights.

Figaro is gorgeous! I've been enjoying the color conversations. One of these days I might be able to figure out what colors my GrandFids are.

I was told that it could be any colour. Ok, now I know.

Yes she is very rich-coloured..maybe a violet?

I have another one who was said to be a Yellowface Opaline but I don't know...I'll need to post her pics later...

The only one I know for sure is my Sky Blue Recessive Pied!
