I'm getting a Blue Streaked Lorie today...

Got a call last night from a person who was having to re-home his 15-20 year old Blue Streaked Lorie named Lupie (referral came from a mutual person who knows we have a very good home for birds and the birds won't leave here)....reason for re-homing is loss of job and having to re-locate...he has had the bird approx. 10 years...this is a wild caught male who was a breeder...Lupie lost his mate a couple of years ago...he is not tame (that doesn't bother me) and what I can tell, the cage is undersized for him...I will be getting a new cage for Lupie when we get our tax refund....already have a person who has a cage for me to get....
Lupie will be my first experience with Lories...so any ideas/help you would like to give me would be very much appreciated...YES, I am reading up on them and learning at a fast pace about them...LOL

sounds good, I think lories are poop shooters, need to protect the carpet and walls.

Brought Lupie home this afternoon! He is beautiful but his cage is NOT GOOD! He is eating apple pieces and some birdy bread for supper....He took the change good so far...Hoping to get pictures and show you all what he looks like....
