My Other Pets I thought I would share my other pets with you now that I have introduced my feathered ones.
I have a rotty named Keesha. She is an older dog about 10 years old. She is borderline diabetic but it can be controlled by diet. Due to this she has put on some weight and now at her age, is starting to affect her hips. She has been one of the best dogs I have ever owned (other the my mini collie who I had to put down from old age). She has NEVER bitten anyone or been violent. When I got her as a puppy, I swore she would never take me for a walk or feel she owned the place. I worked with her and did all her training myself. She is trained by hand commands. Not all commands but quite a few of them.
In our town during our summer fair, they had a pet show. I took her and won first place in obedience and she won the best dog overall. It was informal but I was still very proud of her to do all those commands with all other pets and people around.
I did my research before owning a rotty to know what I was getting myself into. I love her to pieces but she knows who is boss. With rotties, they need to know that or you will lose control.
The next pet is my son's bearded dragon, Draco. I purchased Draco as a xmas gift for my son. Of course, I do not recommend giving pets as gifts to just anyone but I am an animal lover and if son doesn't tend to him, then I know I will. I was a bit shy at first cause I've never had exotic pets other then birds. I wasn't sure I could feed him either but it all works out quite well. He is a very mellow pet. NO noise at all... LOL If you take him out to hold him, he just clings to your chest and closes his eyes while you rub his head. If I ever owned another reptile, I would definitely get another beardie. |
