He had a bad day and Papa didn't even know. He got hurt today. Upper beak got tagged pretty good. I don't know when or how and that plexes me pretty good. I know it wasn't Sophie. I don't believe Cricket could do it. Zoey will if given the chance but I can't see when that could have happened. Below is a pic of the injury. Followed by some simple cute photos. He doesn't seem any worse for the wear. He is eating fine and being himself. Although he did really seem to enjoy me fussing over him tonight. Bless his heart!!!

poor birdie, I guess it is Zoey size damage or a toy maybe. I have a budgie with no top beak, he mate is feeding her so all is well. It does not seem to bother her. I have no idea how the damage happened I wonder if a rat got in the nest box or somehow a sunnie did the damage.

Poor Benji, that looks so painful. Glad to read it's not bothering him though. Will that heal up or will it have to grow out?

Jim, sorry the little guy got hurt. Make sure you keep it clean and watch for any infection. Is he in any pain?

I would suggest you add a drop of GSE or two drops of ACV to his water dish to keep bacteria count as low as you can.

Dear Benji! We are so sorry that the cutest little birdie in the world has a hurt beak. You are so sweet you really don't even have a beak anyway! Dad will get you healed up in no time we are sure. Is that Sophie in the photos with you? Looks like you have plenty of love from her. You all are the prettiest birdies we've ever seen! Ruby says "step-up!"

Oh poor Benji,tell him if his little friend doesn't want to cuddle anymore he can come cuddle with me It is possible that the injury is from a toy. Dolittle (Q) got her beak wedged on a toy once and had a very similar injury. Give him some cuddles from me.
