Default Pom No More

That's right. The dreaded day is finally here. All of the grocery stores here have declared them out of season, so Ollie's last breakfast of pomegranate for the year was this morning. I'm just dreading tomorrow morning. We have such a routine with her pom every morning and she is going to be so confused tomorrow when she doesn't get any. Why oh why can't they be in season year round?!

Oh no! Poor Ollie! My Gipper LOVED those and cranberries. I will check today at my grocery and will let you know if they have any and Ruby will mail them to Ollie if so.

You will be grateful they pull them off the shelf when they do.. bird or no bird. up here they are mostly all rotten by the time we get them. they come out around November and they were finished last month. and the ones that are still on shelf are drie d up rotton things....we pay over 4.00 for one up here.

Have you tried her on cranberries. or other pitted fruits.... I know pomegranites were her favorite . but there must be something else out there.

good luck in finding a replacement...

grandma when we were small kids our parents would give us a pomegrante and a darning needle and we would sit there and watch tv and poke one of the seeds and eat it... took forever.

Around here they come into season sometime in November and are all gone by January/February. By the time January rolls around they aren't lookin the greatest on the outside, but the seeds are actually even better.

Poor Ollie just looked at me with devastated eyes this morning when she didn't get her pom handed to her. I have her 2 almonds to help ease the pain. Poor thing.

She loves apples, but they're not as good for her as poms and I don't want to give her a wedge of that every day. I'll just have to start rotating fruits that she thinks are just "okay..."
