Default Found birds?

so, I was talking to Leigh this morning about how Mr. Buddy was found outside.

My Quaker, Screech was found outside too. I got a call one day from a friend saying "Hey, josh, theres a parrot in my backyard." I went over and sure enough there was screech eating out of his birdfeeder and he was actually with a little blue budgie. I went over and noticed she had a band. I offered a nutriberry and she took a bite, so I offered my finger to step up and she took a bite and took off. I put a cage out there and walkeed away when I came back, she was inside.

I tried searching for the owner, but to no avail. She's very aggressive and wild. She knows I'm her daddy, but is very happy playing with her toys and eating alone. Shes not a cuddler and thats fine with me. Who knows how old she is or how long she was out there.

Anyways, so we were wondering how many other birds were found. Does anyone else have a bird they found outside? What is their story?

My Gipper was found outside (by the people that I got him from) He had flown into their garage, scared to death. Unfortunately, they didn't know a thing about birds so things didn't go very well for him until 7 years later when I got him. Poor guy. I spent every day trying to make it up to him. I have also found 1 quaker, and 4 parakeets in my yard. They all have good homes now.

My kids found a Budgie outside about 23 years ago. He had a long and happy life with his new family.

There was a Catalina at our rescue that was found in a tree in someone's yard...there is a new sweetie of a Blue-fronted Amazon that was just found outside. A Goffin's 'Too, as well. Probably more, too. All birds were found flighted and were obviously someone's pet at some time.

A woman that used to baord my birds for me had a call once that someone had a big bird on their deck. She shows up and it was a scarlet macaw, she held out her arm and he climbed right up and went home with her. She never found the owner, so she kept him. I haven't ever found a parrot type bird, but injured pigeons haad a way of finding me a few years ago!

Oh well Josh. Looks like so far its just you and me who have found birds living with us today. Nice stories about other found fidsfrom everyone though. I feel it inside that one day a macaw will find its way to my yard. I kinda just know it. But Mr Buddy, I dont think he found me by mistake. He was sent to me. My familiar.
