I can't say enough about all our dedicated members who make Parrot Chatter what it is. Thank you all so much for your time, your support, and your love for these birds that brings us all together here. You are wonderful folks.
I'd also like to take a minute to recognize the countless hours of work put in by our owner and administrators. Gary, JR, Karen, thank you. I don't know how you find the time! I couldn't even begin to tally up the hours you folks spend working on this site, you probably don't know yourselves! Just want you to know how much you are appreciated. |

#8 | | | Re: Happy Anniverary Parrotchatter! How Parrot Chatter Has Changed Our Life Here we are, Parrot Chatter, one year old! First and foremost I would like to say sincere Congratulations to everyone who has worked so very hard to get here. I want to thank Gary (Winged Victory) and JR (Big Blues), who created a wonderful perch for us all to flock to. We also can’t forget Karen who does more around here then just about anyone! Then of course, the administration, moderation, and coordination teams who volunteer their time to make everything run smoothly around here. But most of all, to the members, who without them Parrot Chatter wouldn’t even exist.
I joined Parrot Chatter in September 2007. I quickly made friends, and now I feel as though I have become a part of a wonderful family. Parrot Chatter has changed my life, Rob’s life, and the fids lives in so many wonderful ways. Everyone is always there for the good and the bad. We’ve shared happy news, sad news, and emergencies. We have laughed together, cried together, worried about each other, debated important issues, comforted each other, but most importantly, we have grown together. We have learned many things together. Not the least of which was how to come together as a cooperative group. As with any global community of people, there have been bumps along the road that needed to be resolved, but we have overcome!
I, personally, have learned a lot from the wonderful people here. There were times when I just didn’t know what to do. Like the time that Maple bit Harley’s tongue, and he was bleeding everywhere, and I was so worried. Everyone stepped up and walked me through just what to do. Everyone was just as concerned about my baby as I was, it was a great comfort. I have learned how to handle behavioral problems. The fids are much better behaved and happy because of that.
It’s hard to put into words how it feels to come to a place where everyone understands you. It’s wonderful to know that I am not alone in my pursuit to do right by my fids. What’s more, is that it is incredible to know that a group of people, none of whom I have ever met in person (yet), care so deeply about my family…human, feathered, or furry.
Parrot Chatter is not just a forum; it’s a home, a hospital, a sanctuary, and a one of a kind family. This place has changed our life dramatically. We are all happier being a part of such an amazing group of people. It is not only my pleasure, but my honor, to be here. My only regret is that I did not find my way here sooner!
I truly look forward to spending many years here at Parrot Chatter; and sincerely hope that I am able to contribute in some small way. I am excited to see where we go from here.
Happy 1st Anniversary Parrot Chatter!
May there be many more! |
