Re: Jeanne... The girls are doing great.
The blood work came back good on both, they are little vitamin A deficient but that was due to an all seed diet. The clamidia and pbfd test will be back next week. With the number of birds I have in the house I don't take any chances.
Currently they are eating fresh fruits & veggies in the am and their snack dishes have different pellets, dried fruit, nuts, cereal. They never touch their dinner bowls, hopefully when the move in with the rest of the crew they'll start.
I've started all of them on the feather in, I'm hoping to see some sort of improvement in Rosy in the next couple of months. I'm going to take weekly pictures so I can see the progress. She's also started playing with toys! She's gone through one wood one and enjoys one with a ball.
Honey still sleeps in her towel, at least her head does. I'm going to get her a hanging tent to see if she'll sleep in that. Her previous home said she slept in the towel because she kept falling off her perch, I'm going to make her a ledge and see how she does with that. She's also an egg layer - could it be from sleeping in a towel!
I had both of them out this evening while I was watching tv in bed. Rosy was all into being molested, tickled and kissed. Honey wanted to be scritched and kissed.
This weekend I plan on working with Nicky the cherry headed conure. He's flighted so I'm going to clip his wings... I'll let them grow back after. You can see he wants the attention but is so scared.
I'll take some new pictures of them this weekend. |
