Default Ivy's New Bottlebrush Playgym

Wayne's Bottlebrush Stuff

ok, i can never say enough good things about wayne's awesome bottlebrush products. ivy has had one of his in-cage perch lots since she came home, and she has loved them from day one. it is amazing wood, i haven't seen anything else remotely like it.

i had bought a not-so-great dragonwood playstand when i first brought ivy home. it wasn't very exciting, and there wasn't much for her to do on it. it wasn't very pretty either. i am planning on revamping it myself to make it into an extra stand for her in our office.

so i finally decided to get one of wayne's playstands. the dual-tray design is what really got me. my dog is a poop eater and i just can't keep up with him. i have been worried that it will cause health problems with him. so i ended up spending $299 + $35 shipping (only $100 more than the dragonwood playstand i got her) on one of wayne's macaw sized gyms.

well, i got the gym the other day, less than a week from when i ordered it. WOW! this thing is GORGEOUS, VERY VERY well made, and very professional looking. there are a million and one things for ivy to do on it. she immediately puffed up and stepped onto it when she was introduced. she's been playing on it like crazy. there are tons of eyehooks for toys which she plays with. she chews on the branches. there is a spinner that she LOVES. there is an overhead toy which you can hang another toy from. she likes to climb on top of it and go NUTS! the gym comes with 3 bowls and a choice of where you want to put them on the gym. they unscrew easily and wash up great with soap and water. she loves snacking on her banana chips from the bowl! the upper tray catches 90% of the mess, and it wipes down wonderfully. the casters are high quality and very smooth rolling (a big problem with the other gym i have).

i just can't say enough good things, but i think every parrot seriously NEEDS one of these gyms. i plan on getting one for artemis too eventually. they are so above and beyond any other parrot gym on the market and REALLY affordable considering what you get. wayne also offers replacement branch assemblies for a fraction of the original gym price for when the branches are finally chewed down. i used to think wayne played up his products, but if anything, he doesn't say enough good things about them!

here's ivy on her new gym! she LOVES that plastic chain. i just recently got her the SS bell and she loves to ring it. i found that the overhead toy woks better for her when pushed to the back of the gym a little. she loves digging through her SS toy box too

i still just can't get over the size of this thing, amazing!

I really like it, and looks like Ivy does too. Is the tray wide enough to catch the poop if necessary? Some of our stands (not Bottlebrush) aren't wide enough to catch the poop, it goes to the floor so we end up having to use double protection.

I love his playstands. I've seen one in person before, and wow! I love Ollie's hanging gym, but it's not 'pretty' like the stands. I can't afford one now, not to mention a complete lack of space in an apartment already crowded with 5 gyms, but I'll have one someday!

it does for the most part, yes. i'd say it catches about 90% of the mess.

They have figured out that the perches can't hang over the side of the tray which is good. I will look into Bottlebrush. Has Ivy chewed on the wood perch yet?

oh yes, she LOVES it! it has a happy squishy texture on the bark, but then it's hard in the center.

Emily, that playstand is awesome. That's all I can say at the moment as my monster just ate half my keyboard.

I buy a new large Cholla cactus perch every week for Athena and Nova, they love to chew their perch rather than their wood toys.
