Default My two Lovies...Igor & Ike

I'm always posting pictures of my macaws, I thought I'd share some different photos.

Igor was our very fist rescue. He came to us with Peter, female tiel, who passed away a couple of years ago. Since then Igor has become friends with Ziggy, one of our senegals. He doesn't like to be touched at all, but over the years we've all come to an understanding. He's the first one at the dinner table and is allowed to eat off whom ever plate he likes and will go back into his cage when you tell him to.

Ike came to us from a friend of a friend who didn't have enough time to spend with him. He's been with us since Saturday night...

Now that I see the pictures up close you can really see the age difference between the two.

Beautiful colors on them Jeanne. What are their average weights? They look very hearty.

Jeanne, Igor is so cute. Looks like a little devil but he's so cute.

I have three and a half different bird rooms.

I have the large room for the macaws.
My kichen has four bird in it
My dining room has my greys/ekkie/lovies
My living room has my tiels.

We're going to open up the living room and make that into a bird room. We plan on opening up the kitchen/dining room and make it one room.

Construciton never ends....

Wonderful photos - I really don't see a lot of Lovebird photos anymore. The Black Masked isn't all that common on general Boards.

Could you tell me why you think they look different because of their age? To be frank they both looked the same to me.

How are they doing together? - Has Igor acknowledged the new guy? Hope they like each other. Did you get these 2 because you felt compelled to - did you ever think you'd have a Love bird otherwise?

Its a shame about Igor's 'look' but your story about him getting preferential treatment melted my heart.

Igor has cateracts so his eye's have a haze to them.

They are in two separate cages but I have them pushed next to each other. I'm hoping in the future they'll be able to live in the same cage. Ike also didn't have any toys in his cage, I put only a few in because I didn't want to scare him. The first day he sat in front of the mirror for hours.

The guy we got Igor from never let him out of his cage, mainly because he couldn't get him back in. When I'm home on the weekends I don't even lock his cage, he just goes in and out all day. He knows to stay out of the big bird room and away from they when they're out. I'm hoping Ike will follow. Igor greeted Ike with a huge lovie chirp when we got him. They will chirp back and forth.

We've had Igor for so long that I forget what a feathered lovie looks like....I didn't know Ike was a black masked until we picked him up.
