January 2008 Photo Contest: Food Faces!

The theme of this month's contest is Food Faces! Post a photo of your bird enjoying a delectable dish, perhaps enjoying it a bit too much!

We now invite you to submit your entries for this month's contest. For complete contest rules, please see this thread: 2008 ParrotChatter Photo Contest Info and Rules
Please remember: You may submit only 1 photo per bird. You may enter multiple birds. Another reminder from the rules: Your submission picture must be accompanied with a short story about the bird or birds pictured, their name(s), and species.

The winner will have their photo featured on the January page of the 2009 ParrotChatter calendar. You will also receive a 2009 calendar as a prize. Also, your winning photo will be displayed on the Parrot Chatter main entry page for an entire month.

All submitted photos must be of high resolution and with a pixel size of at least 1600 x 1200.

The contest will remain open until this time next Sunday-one full week. At that time a poll will be set up for voting!

Bird's Name: Pogo (Male)
Species: Budgerigar ("Budgie")

I got Pogo from Petco when he was about 2-1/2 to 3 months old, and he's now about 1-1/2 years old. He's a "Type II Yellowface". He talks and does a few tricks, and loves human food as you can see. In this photo, he is enjoying some cherry vanilla ice cream so much that he can hardly keep his eyes open.

Ryan, Blue Fronted Amazon

I have yet to find another food that Ryan goes this crazy over other than sweet potatoes. I warm them up and he knows they're coming. He paces back and forth as I put them in his bowl, then he dives in them like he's never eaten before. He eats them so fast I can actually hear him going, "gobble, gobble, gobble."

This pic is what he usually looks like when he's finished eating. And it's before he shakes his head sending what's left on his face all over the cabinets, the floor and the refrigerator. But that face is definitely worth the mess!
