#1 | | | The difference in a trained bird.... Tonite we had friends over for Christmas dinner and visit. Usually, their and our interaction with Cleo is from a distance. Normally, she leans out, screams a little and just seemed agitated most of the time.
Since our breakthroughs, it's so different.
She sat, got on my leg, I was able to move her about without the perch too much. She was quieter, not nearly as screamy as she can be. THey even laughed cause she gave me a high 5.
She got on the couch and preened my sons hair and they all got a big kick outta that. She laughed. IT was a nice nite...she was part of the flock party.
get it..."flock" party? anyway..
Now, she's not like WHOO HOOO bout stepping up just yet, there is still a little chase, but she will and she'll ride so nicely on my arm now. And when I sat down, she hopped off and played on my legs. A few times, while on my arm, she even whistled and sang a little. I was walking around with her on my arm, talking to her and my wife asked her "are you happy right there with your daddy?"
Oh garsh, that just sounded funny. LOL.
I just wanted to encourage you newbies or even the seasoned bird people to keep working with your birds and any pet for that matter and challenge them. Find new ways. Don't give up. It makes a HUGE difference in the life of the bird. They know when they make you happy and that's what they want to do.
Cleo is happy. I'm happy and I'm very proud of her, especially since I have found out what a mean past she went thru.
