Default Dove on feeder

If anyone doubts that a Mourning Dove can learn to use a bird feeder, here's a couple of pics from today. Taken through the kitchen window in near blizzard conditions....

Nice picture. I have never seen a dove use a feeder. I'm glad the dove is able to get some food with the cold weather. Thanks for sharing.

What great pictures! How cool is that. I have never seen them on my feeders here. I always have to make sure there's food on the ground for them.

Well, they don't all figure it out, that's for sure. But a few of them do, having apparently learned that they can get food this way even when there's none on the ground, or as today, when everything is covered with snow. Smarter than the average dove, I guess!

My several hundred Dove would rather peck the seed from the ground but I have a few who like to sit in one of the feeders and eat.

Nice picture and thank you for taking care of the outside birds in the stormy weather.

Great pictures Nate. Mine won't use the feeders, but the other birds do a fantastic job of spilling seed all over the ground. It's almost like they do it on purpose to help out the doves.
